NFL Football Week 14: Patriots Still Perfect at 13-0…Vote Brady Best QB
December 10, 2007
Coming into their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the Patriots were facing probably their last real challenge of the season in their campaign for an undefeated season going up against Pittsburgh’s defense which is ranked number 1 in the league; at least before the Patriots put 34 points on them.
Tom Brady came out firing in this game, passing for two quick touchdowns to Randy Moss in the first half and finishing the game with a total of four touchdown tosses which breaks Dan Marino’s record of games with three or more touchdowns in a season with 11 games. Needless to say the Steelers’ defense didn’t really live up to the number one ranking as the Patriots rolled over them 34-13.
The Patriots weren’t the only team to get it done on Sunday as three other teams (all NFC) wrapped up their divisions with a win. The Dallas Cowboys (NFC East), Green Bay Packers (NFC North) and the Seattle Seahawks (NFC West) all clinched their divisions on Sunday, both Green Bay and Seattle convincingly beating their opponents, but Dallas struggled against a Detroit Lions team that didn’t quit. Tony Romo showed what he can do in a clutch situation as the put together a fourth quarter and win the game on a touchdown pass to tight end Jason Witten.
As for Monday night football, it will be another bore feast with the Reggie Bush sitting out with an injury the New Orleans Saints go up against the Atlanta Falcons. Both teams’ seasons are basically over, so the game means absolutely nothing. Definitely got to do something about this Monday night schedule, it has become almost impossible to bear through any of them; except for last Monday of course.
As you know my roommate Lisa put together a poll to determine who people feel is the best NFL Quarterback for the 2007 season. I feel Tom Brady, but it looks like her poll is showing Peyton Manning. Want to read yesterdays post: Who Is The Best NFL Quarterback For The 2007 Season? To vote…Take The Poll!
