NFL Football Week 12: Thanksgiving Weekend NFL Match Ups

November 25, 2007

With three of the best and more entertaining teams already having played (Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts), one would think that the rest of the holiday weekend will be boring and not even worth watching, but you will missing out on a lot of evenly matched games with playoff implications.

Sunday’s Must See Match Ups:

Tennessee Titans at Cincinnati Bengals
Even though you may think Tennessee would run away with this one, they hit a speed bump against the Denver Broncos last Monday night and the Bengals will look to capitalize on their mistakes

NFL Football Week 9: Let’s Just Get to Week 9 Already!

October 30, 2007

With all the anticipation for the game of the year on November 4th between the New England Patriots (7-0) and the Indianapolis Colts (6-0), no one seems to care about anything that is going on in week 8 in the NFL, including myself.

It is pretty obvious the way the Patriots have made every team that they have faced so far, including the Dallas Cowboys, look like a high school teams that the Washington Redskins aren’t going to be much of a challenge, almost so much so that Joe Gibbs should just take the forfeit so his fragile players don’t get hurt. Pretty sad isn’t it? The Indianapolis Colts against Carolina Panthers will be a joke too! Almost the same kind of match up, maybe even worse as the Panthers just announced that old timer Vinny Testaverde will be starting. Didn’t they see Jacksonville’s quarterbacks get destroyed last week? They might as well throw a screen pass to Steve Smith all day because Vinny is going to be on his back all day long; guarantee Dwight Freeney will have at least two of three sacks in this one, maybe even another safety!

NFL Football Week 7: Mid-Season NFL Trades

October 18, 2007

NFL football is the only sport out of all the popular teams sports in America that doesn’t really have that many trades during the season or off season for that matter, in fact it is quite usual for trades to happen at all, especially with big time players.

This year is the exception though, no big names moving to other cities, but definitely players that could make a significant impact in their new team’s success. The two trades went down before the NFL’s deadline, the first was between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Bucs, the Bucs are not as bad as people have expected this season at 4-2 and at the top of the NFC South with the Carolina Panthers, but they are really banged up, especially at running back with the feature back Carnell “Cadillac” Williams out for the season, so the Bucs went out and made a deal for Larry Johnson’s back up, Michael Bennett. This should greatly improve an already decent offense lead by quarterback Jeff Garcia as Bennett will be a solid starter in the backfield for the Bucs.

Surprise After Surprise Brings Unpredictable and Entertaining NFL Season

October 5, 2007

Surprise after surprise! This season in the NFL has been completely unpredictable and very entertaining so far, from the Green Bay Packers starting out 4-0 with a rejuvenated Brett Favre to a San Diego Chargers team that looks as bad as the 2-14 Oakland Raiders did last year, poor Marty or I guess you would have to say poor Norv now.

The great thing about NFL football that has stayed consistent through out the years is any team can potentially make it to the Super Bowl in any given year, which in my opinion, makes this league and this sport one of the best in the world.

For instance, this year has shown us the improvement of many teams that have been down in the dumps for the past few years like the Detroit Lions whose offense is becoming reminiscent to Mike Martz’s old St. Louis Rams high powered offense when Kurt Warner was winning MVPs which has the Lions sitting on a very comfortable 3-1 record.
