NFL Football Week 14: Atlanta Falcons Fall Again!

December 11, 2007

Monday was as bad as it could be for the Atlanta Falcons, first ex-quarterback superstar turned the “Dog Butcher” was sentenced to 23 months in jail (a slap on the wrist if you ask me) then the Falcons go and get trampled on by beat up New Orleans Saints team 34-14.

It just can get any worse for this franchise, not only have they lost the only superstar they have ever really had (besides Neon Deion) in Michael Vick and been absolutely God awful on both sides of the ball sitting at 3-10 this season, but to be honest, there is literally no hope in sight unless they grab Darren McFadden or one of elite quarterbacks in next year’s draft. All I got to say is too bad, at times in the last couple seasons or so, the Falcons actually looked like they had potential to be one of the best in the NFL behind Vick, but oh how the mighty have fallen.

NFL Football Week 14: Patriots Still Perfect at 13-0…Vote Brady Best QB

December 10, 2007

Coming into their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the Patriots were facing probably their last real challenge of the season in their campaign for an undefeated season going up against Pittsburgh’s defense which is ranked number 1 in the league; at least before the Patriots put 34 points on them.

Tom Brady came out firing in this game, passing for two quick touchdowns to Randy Moss in the first half and finishing the game with a total of four touchdown tosses which breaks Dan Marino’s record of games with three or more touchdowns in a season with 11 games. Needless to say the Steelers’ defense didn’t really live up to the number one ranking as the Patriots rolled over them 34-13.

NFL Football Week 8: Trade Talks

October 27, 2007

Even though the trade deadline has come and gone in the NFL, trade talks are still swirling with some pretty big names looking to get moved this off season, which could really shake up the NFL if these players actually get moved.

One of the three really big names that might get moved is Atlanta Falcons very vocal corner back DeAngelo Hall who is no stranger to controversy and now trade talk. The Falcons have been doomed from the start of this season with the whole Michael Vick fiasco and just the fact that this is the worst Atlanta Falcons team I have ever seen (and that is saying something), so the possibility of DeAngelo Hall leaving town, (who happens to be the best player now) is very real, because something has to happen to make this team better (if that is possible).

Another player that might be on his way to another franchise this off season is superstar big mouth wide receiver Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals. It would be a shame if he does leave Cincinnati because the Carson Palmer to Chad Johnson connection is one of the best duos in the NFL next to Tony Romo to Terrell Owens and Peyton Manning to Marvin Harrison, but the Bengals are not looking good at all and from the sounds of things something will happen this off season and Chad Johnson will right in the middle of it.

NFL Football Week 6: New York Giants Made Improve to 4-2

October 16, 2007

As predicted, this Monday night match up between the New York Giants and the Atlanta Falcons was as boring as can be and ended in a convincing win for the Giants 31-10. Who picks these games for Monday Night Football?

On a positive note though, Eli Manning, despite having 2 interceptions, put up numbers similar to his brother Peyton. The young quarterback who almost certainly will live in his brother shadow for the rest of his career, threw for an impressive 303 yards and 2 touchdowns, one to his veteran wide out Amani Toomer who is the new all-time leader in receptions for the Giants after catching 7 passes and the other touchdown was to the receiver who will most likely be next in line for all-time receptions, Eli’s version of Marvin Harrison, Plaxico Burress (tied for the league lead in touchdown receptions with Randy Moss at 8).

NFL Football Week 6: Tom Brady Ruled the Day and the Dallas Secondary

October 15, 2007

The highly anticipated battle of the NFC and AFC’s best did not fail to disappoint, but it was clear in the end who was and is the better team and quite possibly the better quarterback too.

Tom Brady absolutely torched the Dallas Cowboys’ defense on Sunday, throwing for 5 touchdown passes and 388 yards in the air, connecting with his very talented receiving core lead by Randy Moss. This time around though, Moss was not the top dog in the trio as Donte Stallworth and Wes Welker (Welker had two TDs) both caught a touchdown passes and had over 100 yards receiving. Moss wasn’t non existent though catching 6 passes for 59 yards a touchdown pass from Brady also.

The Patriots won this battle for the NFL’s top dog (with the exception of the Colts) 48-24, next stop for the one of the only two undefeated teams left is against the division rival Miami Dolphins (God knows how many TDs Brady will have in that one). Read more
