NFL Football Week 13: Key Match Ups

December 2, 2007

Week 14 got off to a good start on Thursday with two of the NFC’s best going head to head in Dallas with Romo and company taking down Favre’s Packers, but are there any other must see games this weekend worth watching? Well, the answer is yes and it starts off with a great AFC divisional match up between 9-2 Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars who are sitting quietly at 8-3, just waiting for the chance to take the lead in the running for the AFC South division title over the Colts who have dominated the division for years. So keep your eye on this one because who ever comes out on top, just might be the second best team in the AFC and possibly the NFL behind the New England Patriots.

NFL Football Week 12: Thanksgiving Weekend NFL Match Ups

November 25, 2007

With three of the best and more entertaining teams already having played (Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts), one would think that the rest of the holiday weekend will be boring and not even worth watching, but you will missing out on a lot of evenly matched games with playoff implications.

Sunday’s Must See Match Ups:

Tennessee Titans at Cincinnati Bengals
Even though you may think Tennessee would run away with this one, they hit a speed bump against the Denver Broncos last Monday night and the Bengals will look to capitalize on their mistakes

NFL Football Week 11: Sunday Matchups

November 18, 2007

Week 11 has arrived and a few questions remain, but some of the most important ones have been answered. Officially, the New England Patriots are the best team in the NFL this season and quite possibly all-time. After they pulled out a win on Indianapolis home turf, it seemed as if the Patriots barely got by, but after seeing the Peyton Manning and the Colts completely implode against the San Diego Chargers last week I think it is pretty safe to say that the Patriots are the top dogs.

The real question now is, “Who is the next best team in the NFL?” The answer is The Dallas Cowboys, lead by superstars Tony Romo and wide receiver Terrell Owens. After beating up division rival New York Giants on Sunday 31-20, it seems safe to say that the Cowboys own their division and the NFC, Romo was as efficient as ever with 247 yards passing, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. Terrell Owens had a breakout game as well being Romo favorite target with 6 catches, 125 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Although Dallas is rolling and looking unbeatable (except against the Patriots), Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers are keeping up in the NFC as well at 8-1. Favre has been spectacular and a mirror image of his younger self, especially against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday when he threw for 351 yards, 3 touchdowns with no picks to beat Adrian Peterson and his Vikings 34-0.

The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers will have a showdown to see who is the top dog in the NFC on a Thursday night in week 13; it should be a good one and possibly a preview of the NFC championship.

Sunday’s Must See Match Ups:

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens
The Browns have to be the surprise of the season at 5-4 ahead of the Ravens and the Bengals in the AFC North, there is no way they are going to win the division with Pittsburgh playing the way they are, but they will make a good run at the wildcard, so look for them to take down their division foe on Sunday

San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Chargers are coming off a huge win over the Colts, but people are calling it a fluke because their offense was non existent, so look for them to make an example of a good Jaguars squad, but Jones-Drew and company have a good shot of taking them down

New York Giants at Detroit Lions
The Giants are recuperating from a disappointing loss to the Cowboys and the Lions having been upsetting good teams all season with a high powered offense, so this should turn out to be a good one with a good defense taking on a good offense

New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans
The Texans are finally back to full strength with quarterback Matt Schaub and wide receiver Andre Johnson coming back, the Saints licking their wounds from a beating by a winless Rams squad, look for both teams to try and prove they are still in the hunt for the playoffs

Arizona Cardinals at Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have been really struggling this season with an offense that should be unstoppable, but isn’t and the Cardinals are showing signs of life after beating the Lions convincingly, both teams will be looking to destroy the other on Sunday

NFL Football Week 8: The Preview

October 28, 2007

Sunday’s games will showcase about five competitive match ups that will shake up the NFL in terms of who is for real and who needs to make some changes.

Here are the match ups to watch on NFL Sunday:

Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears

-both of these teams have shown promise on both sides of the ball this season with quarterback Jon Kitna actually turning the Lions offense into a dangerous threat and Chicago Bears looking to get back in the playoff mix with Devin Hester playing wider receiver and Brian Griese taking Grossman’s spot, it should be a good match up, but I think Bears will come out on top

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals

-Cincinnati is in desperation mode right now and the Steelers want to stay in the playoff hunt in the AFC, so these two teams will be looking at tearing each apart and both teams have the capabilities to do so, it will be a close one, but I think Steelers are too good this year to get beat by the Bengals

NFL Football Week 8: Trade Talks

October 27, 2007

Even though the trade deadline has come and gone in the NFL, trade talks are still swirling with some pretty big names looking to get moved this off season, which could really shake up the NFL if these players actually get moved.

One of the three really big names that might get moved is Atlanta Falcons very vocal corner back DeAngelo Hall who is no stranger to controversy and now trade talk. The Falcons have been doomed from the start of this season with the whole Michael Vick fiasco and just the fact that this is the worst Atlanta Falcons team I have ever seen (and that is saying something), so the possibility of DeAngelo Hall leaving town, (who happens to be the best player now) is very real, because something has to happen to make this team better (if that is possible).

Another player that might be on his way to another franchise this off season is superstar big mouth wide receiver Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals. It would be a shame if he does leave Cincinnati because the Carson Palmer to Chad Johnson connection is one of the best duos in the NFL next to Tony Romo to Terrell Owens and Peyton Manning to Marvin Harrison, but the Bengals are not looking good at all and from the sounds of things something will happen this off season and Chad Johnson will right in the middle of it.

Surprise After Surprise Brings Unpredictable and Entertaining NFL Season

October 5, 2007

Surprise after surprise! This season in the NFL has been completely unpredictable and very entertaining so far, from the Green Bay Packers starting out 4-0 with a rejuvenated Brett Favre to a San Diego Chargers team that looks as bad as the 2-14 Oakland Raiders did last year, poor Marty or I guess you would have to say poor Norv now.

The great thing about NFL football that has stayed consistent through out the years is any team can potentially make it to the Super Bowl in any given year, which in my opinion, makes this league and this sport one of the best in the world.

For instance, this year has shown us the improvement of many teams that have been down in the dumps for the past few years like the Detroit Lions whose offense is becoming reminiscent to Mike Martz’s old St. Louis Rams high powered offense when Kurt Warner was winning MVPs which has the Lions sitting on a very comfortable 3-1 record.

Week 4 Monday Night Football: Patriots vs. Bengals

October 3, 2007

The Monday Night Football shootout is over and the New England Patriots did not disappoint, but the Cincinnati Bengals will definitely have to go back to the drawing board as their once high powered offense were only able to produce 13 points against a Patriot team that just seems destine for the Super Bowl and quite possibly a perfect season.

Tom Brady and Randy Moss put on what has seemed to be a weekly performance with the two superstars connecting for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Simply amazing, if this continues to be the case, you can expect the New England Patriots to be representing the AFC in the Super Bowl this season, sorry Peyton, but these boys are good! Really good!

The Bengals on the other hand have a lot of work to do and a coach that ready to disown the team.
