NFL Week 13: Results on the Gridiron
December 3, 2007
Indianapolis held off the Jags, Adrian Peterson runs over Detroit, Buffalo pulls out a tight one and Oakland isn’t finished just yet! It was an interesting football Sunday on the gridiron as a few teams surprised some people and others let their fans down.
Results of Sunday’s Key Match Ups:
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts 25-28
-Peyton Manning and company held off a tough Jacksonville team to keep on top of the AFC South once again without Marvin Harrison
NFL Football Week 13: Key Match Ups
December 2, 2007
Week 14 got off to a good start on Thursday with two of the NFC’s best going head to head in Dallas with Romo and company taking down Favre’s Packers, but are there any other must see games this weekend worth watching? Well, the answer is yes and it starts off with a great AFC divisional match up between 9-2 Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars who are sitting quietly at 8-3, just waiting for the chance to take the lead in the running for the AFC South division title over the Colts who have dominated the division for years. So keep your eye on this one because who ever comes out on top, just might be the second best team in the AFC and possibly the NFL behind the New England Patriots.
NFL Football Week 12: Weekend Wrap Up and Monday Night Football Preview
November 26, 2007
As predicted, this week showcased some pretty competitive games and really close calls for some teams that were just a little too confident.
I have to start with the New England Patriots against the Philadelphia Eagles; even though it was the last game on Sunday it was a big surprise that it was that close of a contest.
When it was announced that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb wasn’t going to play and backup AJ Feely was going to be the starter, I was getting ready to see an absolute massacre, similar to what the Patriots did to the Washington Redskins a few weeks ago and the Buffalo Bills last week, but that was as far from the truth as can be! The Patriots did score on an interception by Ansante Samuel (best corner in football right now) on the Eagles first possession, but after that, the teams might as well have been mirror images of each other, if you can believe that!
NFL Football Week 8: The Preview
October 28, 2007
Sunday’s games will showcase about five competitive match ups that will shake up the NFL in terms of who is for real and who needs to make some changes.
Here are the match ups to watch on NFL Sunday:
Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears
-both of these teams have shown promise on both sides of the ball this season with quarterback Jon Kitna actually turning the Lions offense into a dangerous threat and Chicago Bears looking to get back in the playoff mix with Devin Hester playing wider receiver and Brian Griese taking Grossman’s spot, it should be a good match up, but I think Bears will come out on top
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals
-Cincinnati is in desperation mode right now and the Steelers want to stay in the playoff hunt in the AFC, so these two teams will be looking at tearing each apart and both teams have the capabilities to do so, it will be a close one, but I think Steelers are too good this year to get beat by the Bengals
NFL Football Week 5: Highlights From Sunday’s Games
October 8, 2007
Not the most entertaining week for NFL football, but there were a couple match ups that lived up to the hype and got teams back to form like the Chicago Bears against their undefeated rival Green Bay Packers. In this game Favre was quite impressive despite the 2 interceptions (one of which was a hailmary at the end of the game), throwing for 322 yards and a touchdown, but even with the hall of famer playing like a hall of famer; it wasn’t enough though as the Chicago Bears capitalized on senseless turnovers by the Packers and handed them their first loss of the season.
Another team to get back to their old ways was the San Diego Chargers as the absolutely destroyed division rival Denver Broncos 41-3. LaDainian Tomlinson wasn’t the feature back this time around as Michael Turner tore up the Broncos defense with 147 yards and a touchdown, Antonio Gates was his usual self having 113 yards receiving to lead the team and the touchdown as well. With this win the Chargers looked a lot like last year’s team and now have some momentum going into another AFC West match up next week at home against the hated Oakland Raiders.
NFL Football Week 5: The Romo Factor and Sunday Previews
October 6, 2007
It is official; Tony Romo is now a premier quarterback in the NFL and a class act to boot! Romo has shown quite a few things over the first 4 weeks of the NFL season, leading his Dallas Cowboys to a 4-0 start.
First off, the guy has got a tremendous competitive fire that makes you believe that he can do anything on the football field, after last week I think you know why, secondly is his skill level at quarterback is getting him comparisons to a young Brett Favre (which is quite an honor) and ranking him up their with the big boys like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, but most of all, the guy has a magnetic personality that is impossible to hate and very easy to have you turning into a Dallas Cowboys fan no matter how much you hate Terrell Owens. We could very well be witnessing the beginning next great quarterback, I have a feeling that the sky is the limit for Romo and if he keeps it up, don’t be surprised to see Dallas representing the NFC in the Super Bowl come February or at least in the near future.
As for Romo’s next challenge, the Dallas Cowboys are taking on the Buffalo Bills, which for a player like Romo and a team as hot as the Cowboys are right now is no challenge, but I do love to watch this kid play!
